Apple Streusel Pie Recipe
I’m so excited to be sharing this amazing-but-straightforward pie recipe right in time for the holiday season! While the description might make it seem like a lot of work, we’re relying on some packaged shortcuts to bring some serious time savings to this pie recipe.
While this holiday season likely looks pretty different for you again this year, one thing remains the same: the holidays can be stressful. So, this year especially, shortcuts in the kitchen are a must-have!

Apple Streusel Pie Ingredients
- Crust: I use a pecan pie crust for a buttery, crumbly twist on the usual. You can also use graham cracker, cookie, or pre-baked pastry crusts.
- Apple Filling: It is satisfying to Lucky Leaf® apple pie filling. It has no high-fructose corn syrup and tastes great.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: Just milk and sugar. It blends evenly with the apples, and I save a little to drizzle on top.
- There’s also a streusel topping, which I’ll cover below.
Quick Tip
Sweetened condensed milk is a holiday recipe staple. Don’t confuse it with evaporated milk, though. Be sure to read the label!

Streusel Tips
This struesel is sweet, buttery, and full of warm spices, reliable with the creamy, crisp apple filling.
Tips:
- Cool the butter: Use melted butter that has cooled to room temp to avoid greasy streusel.
- Adjust flour if needed: Add 1–2 more tablespoons if the mixture is not crumbly.
- Do not press it down: Just sprinkle on top without pressing.
- It looks like a lot: You will have a thick layer, but it bakes down just right.

Apple Streusel Pie Recipe Tips
- Allow plenty of time for this pie to set up. Once baked, the pie is not very firm. It needs a good 1-2 hours at room temperature to solidify and set up before cutting into the pie and serving.
- Bake the Apple Streusel Pie on a sheet pan. Just in case anything bubbles over, you’ll want that to be captured on the tray, not at the bottom of your oven!
- Use a hot, sharp knife (run it under hot water, dry with a towel) to make cuts into this pie. Serve and return any leftovers (covered tightly) to the fridge.
