Baked Ravioli with Just 20 Minutes of Work!
from-scratch lasagna is a treat, but it requires a lot of work: cooking pasta, making sauce, grating cheese, and baking.
That’s why I’m sharing this Baked Ravioli recipe. It’s a total game-changer. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with cheese. It tastes like it came straight from a restaurant!
And the best part? It’s straightforward and quick, ready in less than 20 minutes of hands-on time, and made all in one skillet. You don’t even need a separate pot to boil the ravioli since it bakes right in the same pan as everything else.
Quick Tip
If you don’t have a big, oven-safe skillet, this recipe still works! Just use a 9×13-inch casserole dish!

Ingredients
| Ingredient | Swaps or Tips |
|---|---|
| Ravioli | Use fresh (not frozen) for best results. You can swap with beef or spinach ravioli, or even tortellini. |
| Marinara Sauce | Use a high-quality store-bought sauce (like Rao’s). from-scratch sauce works too! |
| Italian Sausage | Swap with ground beef, turkey, or keep it vegetarian by skipping the meat. Use leftovers in Sausage Pasta. |
| Boursin Cheese | Ricotta or mascarpone works if you don’t have Boursin for the baked ravioli. |
| Mozzarella & Parmesan | Shred your own mozzarella for the best melt. Parmesan can be swapped with Pecorino Romano for a sharper flavor. |
Quick Tip
Boursin is available at most grocery stores. It’s typically found in the deli section or with other cheeses. You might recognize it from this fun Carrot Cheeseball recipe!

How To Make Baked Ravioli
- Sauté: Cook onions in olive oil until the edges turn golden, then add garlic just until fragrant.
- Brown the Meat: Add sausage, break it apart, and cook through. Drain excess fat.
- Build Sauce: mix in marinara, Boursin, and seasonings. Simmer a few minutes.
- Add Ravioli: Stir fresh ravioli right into the sauce. No boiling needed!
- Top with Cheese & Bake: Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top. Bake until bubbly and golden.
Storage
- Best Fresh: Just like my marry me chicken tortellini, baked ravioli is best straight out of the oven with those crispy edges.
- Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container for 1 to 3 days. The ravioli will soften as it soaks up sauce.
- Freezer: Not ideal for freezing. The pasta texture does not hold up well.
