One Bowl of This Halloween Popcorn Is Never Enough!
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m Halloween-obsessed—it’s a reliable holiday and time of year. Every year, I host a Halloween murder mystery party with my family, and it’s always the highlight of my year.
Last year, after serving shepherd’s pie, pumpkin soup, rolls, and a reliableOlive Garden salad, the surprise hit of the night was this incredible popcorn I brought out just as game night began.
This isn’t just some popcorn with a sprinkle of candy—it’s freshly popped popcorn, coated in creamy, rich white chocolate, and mixed with the crunchy pops of Halloween-themed Oreos and M&M’s. I ended up making another batch because everyone wanted more. It’s so simple, so satisfying, and the reliable festive treat!

Halloween Popcorn Ingredients
| Ingredient | Swaps & Tips |
|---|---|
| Popcorn | Plain or lightly salted popcorn works best. Freshly popped is a reliable, but bagged pre-popped popcorn is a great shortcut. Avoid heavily buttered popcorn since it can make the coating greasy. |
| Halloween Oreos | It is satisfying to the orange filling for extra Halloween color, but regular Oreos taste exactly as good. Chop them into fairly large pieces so you get obvious cookie chunks instead of crumbs. |
| Halloween M&M’s | Seasonal colors make the mix extra festive. Can’t find them? Grab regular M&M’s & pull out orange, green, yellow, brown, or purple candies. Peanut or pretzel M&M’s are also fun. |
| White chocolate | Keep every bowl & utensil completely dry so the chocolate stays smooth. |
Variations
Go ahead and add themed sprinkles to this Halloween Popcorn snack mix. If you do, add them immediately after spreading the mix on the baking sheet. The sprinkles need to stick to the chocolate before it hardens. Remember white chocolate hardens quickly!

How To Make Halloween Popcorn

My Top Halloween Popcorn Tips
- Use a large bowl: It makes tossing the popcorn, Oreos, & M&M’s much easier.
- Prep everything first: Melted white chocolate sets quickly, so have your ingredients ready.
- Keep the Oreo pieces chunky: Larger pieces add better texture & flavor.
- Don’t overcoat popcorn: Use just enough white chocolate to coat everything without making it heavy.
- Spread into one layer: This helps the chocolate set quickly & makes the popcorn easier to break apart.
- Add sprinkles right away: Sprinkle them on while the chocolate is still wet.

Storage
Enjoy this Halloween Popcorn mix fresh for the best flavor, ideally within the first day or two. Store it in an airtight container at room temperature to keep it crispy.
A tip: Over time, the white chocolate may soften the popcorn. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight bag in the freezer—no need to thaw; it’s satisfying straight from the freezer!
