Let’s Chat Peanut Butter

If you’ve made my no-bake Avalanche Cookies or other peanut butter treats, you know SKIPPY® is my go-to!

For these cereal bites, I use SKIPPY® Natural Creamy—it’s smooth and tastes amazing. With 7g of protein from plants in each serving, it’s a great pick for a naturally sweet snack or part of lunch.

Peanut Butter Cereal Bites Variation Ideas

  • Drizzle with chocolate: Pipe melted chocolate over the bites for extra flavor.
  • Use different cereal: Try fun new cereal types or flavors.

Tips For Peanut Butter Cereal Bites
  • Let the bites cool on a Silpat® liner or parchment—they will stick if not lined.
  • Make sure peanut butter and honey are warmed before adding so they mix well.
  • Use microwave-safe bowls to heat the peanut butter and honey.
  • Spoon the mixture onto the lined pan, then gently press each bite together.

Storage

To store these peanut butter cereal bites, place any leftovers in an airtight container. Keep the container in a cool dry place for up to a week. These bites are best when fresh, and every day they stand, they lose texture and become overly soft/gooey/chewy (especially in overly humid climates). It’s a good excuse to eat ‘em up!

This recipe isn’t a great candidate for freezing and thawing; the honey and peanut butter coating softens and the cereal becomes mushy.

Peanut Butter Granola Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (I like Skippy® Creamy Peanut Butter)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups oat crunch cheerio cereal

Method

  1. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and keep nearby. Measure out the cereal and place in a large bowl; keep nearby for now.
  2. Add peanut butter, honey, and salt to a large, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove and stir vigorously. Return the bowl to the microwave for another 40 seconds. Remove and stir vigorously again.
  3. Pour in vanilla and mix to combine. Use a spatula to scrape every bit of this peanut butter and honey mixture into the bowl with the cereal. Mix gently until all the cereal is well coated.
  4. Drop clusters about 2 tablespoons in size onto the prepared sheet pan. Gently compress the clusters with your hands to ensure the cereal bites will stay together as they harden. Let stand at room temperature until set, about 1–3 hours. Enjoy!
