M&M Mason Jar Cookies at Home

M&M Mason Jar Christmas Cookies are a fun and festive treat, and with the free printable recipe attachment, they make the cutest holiday gift!

Check out the Mason Jar Sugar Cookies, Peppermint Bark Brownie Cookies, and Christmas Brownies I shared earlier this week.

M&M Mason Jar Cookies

Growing up, my mom always made from-scratch gifts for neighbors and co-workers, and it’s a tradition I’ve tried to carry on.

It is satisfying to cookies, and to me, there’s nothing better than a gift that’s not only satisfying but also makes life a little easier during the busy holiday season.

Gifting someone a cookie mix they can whip up in minutes for Santa on Christmas Eve or quickly bake before guests arrive is truly a great gift. So today, I’m sharing the best way to assemble a truly amazing gift!

M&M Mason Jar Cookies Supplies

  • Mason Jars (Set of 12)
  • Wide Mouth Funnel (Makes assembly a way easier!)
  • Red Holiday Ribbon The exact one I use pictured below was purchased from Hobby Lobby)
  • Miniature Clothespins
  • Mini Wire Kitchen Whisks (Set of 12)
  • FREE Printable Recipe Attachment

I’ve shared M&M cookies before, and they’ve been a huge hit! Since the full recipe didn’t fit in a mason jar, I adjusted it for a half batch. For the full recipe, follow this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup holiday M&M’s
  • 3/4 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup (1 and 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. In the mason jar: combine the flour, baking soda and salt in the bottom of a 1-quart mason jar. Tap the jar several times firmly to get the flour mixture in one layer. Press it down as much as possible. Next, add in the brown sugar and pack down as much as possible. Next, add in the granulated sugar and again pack that down. Add in the M&M’s and chocolate chips. Press down firmly. Seal the mason jar, add a ribbon with a miniature whisk (if desired), and attach the free printable recipe attachment (or the following directions).
  2. Recipe to attach: Heat oven to 350°F. Beat butter, egg and vanilla extract in large mixing bowl until blended. Add mason jar mix and mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto parchment lined baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
