“Just One More Slice” Strawberry Pretzel Salad!
I grew up with desserts called “salads,” and this Strawberry Pretzel Salad was the best!
These “salads” (which are really desserts) pop up everywhere: potlucks, parties, even funerals! In Utah, every holiday or summer party includes a version of this recipe. And yes, it’s served right next to the Funeral Potatoes, slow cooker Roast, Dinner Rolls, and Roasted Green Beans, not with the real desserts.
No wonder they’re so popular: dessert with dinner, then more dessert after that! Yes, please!

Ingredients
| Ingredient | Tips & Swaps |
|---|---|
| Pretzels | Crush coarsely, not fine crumbs |
| Butter | Cool before mixing so crust isn’t greasy |
| Cream Cheese | Use full-fat block style for structure |
| Whipped Topping | Fully thaw before folding, or make your own |
| Strawberry Gelatin | Use the large 6-ounce box (not low-sugar) |
| Fresh Strawberries | Slice thin for clean layers, use fresh not frozen |

Reader’s Notes & Tips
Here’s My Top Tips From Making Strawberry Pretzel Salad!
- Cool the Jello: Let it reach room temp before pouring, or it melts the cream cheese.
- Whisk fast: Add boiling water and whisk right away to avoid lumps.
- Cut clean: Use a sharp knife. If it sticks, dip in hot water, dry, and cut again.
- Plan wait time: Each layer needs time to chill or set. Build in breaks between crust, cream cheese, and Jello.

Storage
How To Make Strawberry Pretzel Salad Ahead Of Time
Make Ahead: It’s best within a day or two. Prep the crust and cream cheese layer the night before, then add the Jello the next day.
Freezing: Not recommended. Freezing softens the crust and makes the layers watery.
